Ann Carrington

Ann Carrington studied at the RCA and sculpts fantastical metal sculptures and artworks that evoke the age of aristocracy.  She gathers found and discarded objects - in these pieces she uses buttons - to shape her pieces.  These works celebrate the notion of royalty and playfully reference the heritage of the Pearly Kings and Queens, as well as shining a light on intricate craftsmanship.  Carrington manipulates mundane objects into marvels, inviting viewers to reconsider ephemera they might otherwise overlook.  Her works are highly collected, including in the collections of Elton John, Paul Smith and Lulu Guinness.
