Overview
Have you ever spotted wildflowers growing through the gaps between concrete slabs? Next time you're out on a walk, keep an eye out for this marvel of nature finding a way. Jesse Pollock's aluminium flowers inspire the same sentiments. They appear as if made out of scrap, the product of some ecological breakdown, yet despite that they radiate the essential beauty of something natural. A contradiction unto itself. In the glass and tiled atrium of 16 Palace Street, these flowers occupy the space like monuments to a long-forgotten past. An allusion to the human sensitivity for beauty even in the harshest of times.
