JUNCTIONS: Pipeline Gallery at MYO King's Cross: Larissa Lockshin, Gabriel Kidd, Callum Harvey, Johanna Bath, and Meryl Yana
As part of an expansive group show at the newly opened MYO King's Cross, the artworks on it's lower-ground floor have been generously provided by Pipeline Gallery. Fabrics and textiles take centre stage with pieces such as Larissa Lockshin’s abstract playgrounds painted on satin or Gabriel Kidd’s scrapbook-like composition that evoke child-like foraging. A dreamy lighting permeates the works of Callum Harvey, Johanna Bath, and Meryl Yana in a way that reflects the material softness of the other pieces. Collectively these works teeter the hazy boundary where the abstract feels figurative and the figures feels abstracted.
