Saki is a multidisciplinary artist based in London, working primarily across sculpture, installation and performance. She holds an MFA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London (2025). Her material-led practice brings together sculpture, found objects, and bodily gestures, often transforming familiar objects through reconstruction and material experimentation. Her work has been exhibited in group exhibitions at Hypha Studios, TJ Boulting, Both Gallery, The Bomb Factory Marylebone and Copeland Gallery.
My practice explores thresholds between fragility and transcendence, vulnerability and resilience. Working across sculpture, installation and performance, I am interested in how the body and familiar objects can become sites of tension, carrying traces of memory, power and transformation.
Many of my works begin with an intuitive attraction to objects that already hold particular histories or associations. I often disrupt their original functions through reconstruction and material experimentation. In Body Handle, for instance, a functional handle takes the form of a spiked female body. Through these shifts, familiar objects become psychologically charged, and their relationships to the body are reconsidered.
Material and functional transformation are central to my practice. I am interested in how an object's meaning can shift when its material, form, or expected function changes. Through rubber, textile, metal and found objects, I explore contrasts between softness and hardness, vulnerability and resistance, beauty and violence. In doing so, familiar forms take on new physical and psychological meanings, questioning how we relate to and perceive the objects around us.
