Daisy Fulton is a visual artist based in Manchester. A graduate of the Manchester School of Art in Fine Art, Daisy's studies included a semester at the Willem de Kooning Academy in the Netherlands. She was Artist in Residence at Joya: Arte + Ecología, in Spain (2022) and Fabrica da Criatividade in Portugal (2025). Daisy has exhibited in a number of group shows in galleries including Bankside Gallery, HOME, One New Change and Bankley Gallery. Daisy was awarded the Jackson’s Art Prize Student Award and the Wallace Seymour Painting Prize.
My practice is an honest response to my environment and surroundings, almost like a diary. I use motifs, forms, and lines to hint at places, spaces, and things. I am naturally nostalgic, drawn to details like patterns, textures, and shadows. Painting has become a way of keeping those memories. Working from recollection creates areas on the canvas that are familiar but not fully defined. They sit between representation and abstraction. A big part of my practice is letting the physical process of painting shift the work and allowing the material to guide my hand.
